Attendance

How Absences Work

  • If your child is marked absent or tardy, you will receive a message through ParentSquare.
  • When you receive the notification, click on “Send Note to School and enter the reason for the absence—no need to use a separate form or platform.
  • Once submitted, your school’s attendance staff will receive your note and if approved, update your child’s attendance record in Infinite Campus.
  • All notes are securely logged in ParentSquare, helping schools maintain accurate records.

Other Options for Families

Families may also continue to provide a written absence note directly to the classroom teacher or school office.

A student must attend school for at least half of the day to be counted present. This means that very late arrivals or early dismissals may result in your student being counted as absent even if they were present for part of the day.

Reporting an absence to the front office may be done by using the absence button on the home page of this website or by sending a handwritten note with your child when they return to school. You should indicate the dates and reason for the absence and send supporting documents when needed, i.e. a note from the doctor if the absence is due to their medical appointment. We do request a doctor's note to excuse an illness if your child is absent for more than three consecutive days.

Please contact school staff if you note any discrepancies in your student’s attendance record.
